I’ve been passing myself off as a designer for almost ten years. Working in various places, my first role being at a newspaper publishing house in Oxford, where I was forced to learn the ropes very quickly. I moved on to work (or should I say ‘play’) within a Students Union, then on to be an in‑house designer for a university – and now I’m here, at bda. All of these roles have given me very different challenges and experiences, keeping me on my toes!
Since childhood I have always loved drawing, painting and all things creative. I studied Fine Art in Context at university and then moved over to ‘the dark side’ (as some might say) – design. I just feel very lucky to be able to channel my creativity into my everyday working life. I love graphic design and thrive on the constant need for new ideas and imagination.
Whilst being at bda I have become a Mummy, which has been the best thing EVER. I love my little family very much and they fill me with strength and inspiration every day, helping me get though my working days.
If I find myself with any free time, I’ll fill it with running… I can’t get enough of it! So far I’ve taken part in four marathons and always seem to be training for a race or two. It’s my way of letting go and clearing my head. There really is no better way to start the day (honest!).
I also love to read, I’ve always got a book on the go. I love dancing and singing (not that I’m any good, but it’s fun trying!). I love painting, drawing and anything arty… oh and going to exhibitions, it’s always good to feed the mind!
