Hi, my name is Wes and I'm a web developer from Northampton! (Cue gameshow round of applause)

My Experience

It really doesn't feel this long, but I've been building websites professionally for more than 10 years now. After graduating from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College with a degree in computing, I managed to land a job with a small web design and hosting company. After a couple of years doing everything from setting up web servers to designing and developing websites, I managed to figure out what it was I wanted to concentrate on, and that was building websites.

I then moved on to a design agency where I became one of the senior web developers. During my eight-year tenure, I became more involved with project management and the design process as a whole for web-based projects. I also had the opportunity to apply the use of new technologies and standards during the development process, the most recent of which being HTML(5) and CSS3.

Outside of Work

Most of my time is spent with my wife and two children, but once they're in bed I tend to jump on my PC and either do more web development stuff (yes, I'm a geek) or play a few online games (OK, uber-geek). I occassionally get myself out to the cinema and to see friends, but that only really happens when the wife tells me I need to get out more (apperently it's usually the other way around).
