Visual COBOL R3 Launch
Liberating a software marketing campaign from the restraints of clichés – and delivering ‘Freedom, Choice and More’.
Overview
Like all of bda’s campaigns promoting software products, our approach to the worldwide launch of Visual Cobol R3 – VCR3 – was to steer clear of stale, hackneyed concepts that all too often dominate such marketing.
With the need to grab the attention of, predominantly, Microfocus’ existing customer base of software developers and development managers, we created a striking animated cage concept to illustrate how VCR3 releases the potential of COBOL to bring 'Freedom, Choice, and More'.
This was incorporated into emailers, banner ads, desktop wall papers, deployable badge widgets, registration pages, posters, banner stands, a brochure, a personalised URL (PURL) campaign microsite, a journey tool and a campaign video.
These items generated registrations for the launch webinars and live events taking place across Europe and in the US, while encouraging downloads of a free software trial. All data was captured via the VCR3 microsite, providing a comprehensive, effective and measurable campaign.
